Axis general info:
Axis student ministries are committed to one thing:making much of Jesus Christ. We desire to do so by creating a community of encouragement in which we can lift and help each other in truth. The purpose of our gathering is not to drill the "do's" and "don'ts" of Christianity, but in stead we prioritize our Savior and the maintaining of a personal relationship with Christ.
We have each been created unique to God's standards. He has made us each different, but has allowed us to be able to serve a common goal through His Son. We desire to live lives that are not committed to ourselves, but are committed to Christ. This is not out of obligation but out of willful hearts that desire to live for a worthy God and purpose.Where does this desire come from? It all starts with a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. The friendship begins by accepting Jesus' sacrifice on the cross as the payment for the punishment for all of the bad things that we have done. And for us to recognize that Christ was fully God and man capable of living a perfect life. Because of that perfect life, He was the only one who could bear the punishment for all of our selfishness. By accepting that and the fact He defeated death by rising from the dead on the third day, you are able to find hope in someone and something outside of yourself. This is why Christ is the center (axis) and why we desire to make Him look good!
